Mapping to Scanning: Picking the Right Tool for the Project at Trimble Dimensions

This session is targeted to designers, contractors and service providers who want to learn more about picking the right measuring technology to capture detailed and accurate existing conditions. We will discuss the difference between mapping and scanning technology. There’s a lot of confusion in the market place currently around as-built data collection and accuracy versus speed plus photogrammetry versus scanning. The presentation will introduce the audience to mobile mapping solutions, station based scanners and drones. During the presentation real project examples will be shown from the different tools and process workflows to create the end data deliverables. Attendees in the end will be able to determine based on their end accuracy requirements for their project data what the right tool is for their project.
